A new book imprint is publishing books exclusively for libraries and public schools.
On Oct. 21, digital library service OverDrive launched the new publishing imprint Heights Press, along with its inaugural titles, the Hickory Hollow series. The six-book series caters to middle-grade readers, and is now available exclusively for schools and public libraries worldwide through the e-book and audiobook platforms, Libby and Sora, and the educational video platform Kanopy Kids.
“We’ve been serving libraries, supporting literacy programs and growing lifelong readers for two decades, and this felt like a natural evolution for us to get into the original content space,” OverDrive CMO Jen Leitman tells PEOPLE.
Heights Press, Leitman says, was created as a way to promote literacy to young readers.
