Baker Mayfield caused a stir on the sidelines during the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Monday Night Football game.

When the broadcast caught Mayfield, 29, ingesting something on the sidelines during the game, fans on social media claimed they recognized the product as Zyn, a nicotine product that’s recently increased in demand.

“That Bucs game was so stressful, Baker Mayfield had to pop a zyn,” one account wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter).

Another user said, “I saw the clip of Baker Mayfield popping a Zyn on the sidelines last night. No wonder why the Bucs lost,” after Tampa Bay’s 41-31 loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Monday.

Others speculated that the NFL would penalize Mayfield if it was discovered he was taking Zyn during the game as the league prohibits players from using nicotine products on the field.
