King Charles‘s dashing equerry Lieutenant Colonel Jonathan Thompson has announced his engagement to his high society girlfriend, Olivia Lewis.

Lt Col Thompson, who is known as ‘the Hot Equerry’, revealed his plans to marry Ms Lewis, a high-flying PR executive, with an announcement in The Times newspaper.

The statement read: ‘The engagement is announced between Lieutenant Colonel Johnny Thompson, son of Mr and Mrs Alan Thompson of Morpeth, Northumberland and Olivia Rose, daughter of Mr and Mrs Simon Lewis OBE of Primrose Hill London.’

The handsome 40-year-old, of the 5th Battalion Royal Regiment of Scotland, known to his friends as Jonny, won an army of admirers during appearances at the Coronation and other high-profile royal engagements and was dubbed ‘Major Eye Candy’ and ‘the Hot Equerry’.
