• Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition finally brings the Wii U game to Switch.
• Its release date is 20th March 2025.
• This reveal has spurred speculation that the next Nintendo console will be backwards compatible.

The Nintendo Switch has, since its release back in 2017, become a home for many games that were “stuck” on the failed Wii U. As more and more Wii U games received Nintendo Switch ports, Xenoblade Chronicles X remained as the biggest title without a port. Now that port is scheduled for next year and it has us believing that whatever Nintendo hardware comes next, it will support backwards compatibility.
