The Mercer Votes team is hosting campus events targeting non-partisan voter education, engagement, and registration.
MACON, Ga. — With less than one week away from election day, the final push to get out the vote is making its way to Georgia.
Those efforts have trickled down to college campuses, rallying young voters who are casting ballots in their first presidential election.
At Mercer University, students representing the non-partisan organization “Mercer Votes” are making sure their voices are heard.
The group is made up of “Democracy fellows,” a prestigious title held by Mercer Bears Harris Wallace, Sophia Hall, and Brandon Biel.
Despite being young voters themselves, they are working to educate students and other first-time voters about what to expect this election season.
Wallace is a second-year student from Gwinnett County and already cast his vote for his first presidential election.
