We Will Address Challenges Of Poll Opening Late In Ondo -INEC [Video]

The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Mahmood Yakubu, says the Commission will address the challenges of prompt opening of polling units and effective management of results in the November 16 Governorship Election in Ondo state.

The INEC chairman spoke  with reporters in Akure shortly after arriving when he arrived for a three day assessment visit ahead next week election.

The INEC Chairman while speaking to Journalists said the Commission will be meeting with various stakeholders within the next few days to ensuring a credible exercise.

He said part of the engagement will involve meeting with political parties, civil society organizations, the media, and security agencies.

The commission will also conduct a mock Accreditation exercise in sixteen polling units across six local government areas within the three senatorial zones of the state and also oversee signing of a peace accord among political parties and Candidates.
