This weekend was the target at which the Princess of Wales had been aiming for months.
Having undertaken just three public engagements all year, due to her cancer diagnosis, along came two less than 24 hours apart.
The Princess was determined to be on parade yesterday for the most sacred day in the royal calendar, Remembrance Sunday.
Her appearance on the Foreign Office balcony for the 11am service at the Cenotaph followed Saturday night at the Royal British Legion’s Festival of Remembrance in the Albert Hall.
Both appearances spoke to the importance which the Royal Family attach to commemorating the Fallen.
