SPARTANBURG, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – The Spartanburg Design Review Board approved designs for structures to be built for the Morgan Square Pavilion.
The Morgan Square Pavilion is planned to be a structure at the front door of the square along North Church Street and Main Street in Downtown Spartanburg.
The pavilion will be constructed of three individual freestanding buildings and a freeform canopy above. They will include a visitors’ information kiosk with a city-employed information guide, a public toilet facility with 2 fixtures for men and women and a city storage building.
The approved designs will now go to the Spartanburg City Council, so it can approve the project’s budget. That approval meeting will take place on Dec. 16.
Construction on the pavilion is expected to begin in early 2025 if a budget is approved. The full construction process is expected to take 10 months.
