In September 2024, UNESCO brought 68 students to Zakarpattia, Ukraine, to research what exactly matters in the lives of young people. Facing a global mental health crisis, and especially in war-affected Ukraine, understanding yotuh’s meaning of life is essential.
With UNESCO’s support, students learned research methods, teamwork, AI skills, and media literacy. They are now conducting a nationwide study of meaningfulness among Ukrainian youth.
The results of this project in collaboration with Voluntas will be presented in January 2025. Students will then have the opportunity to propose their own initiatives to increase meaningfulness in their communities.
This initiative is a an important step toward fostering psychological resilience, well-being, and the potential of youth.
