‘SANTA-ANTICS’: Man stuck in chimney trying to evade police [Video]

A Massachusetts man found stuck in a chimney was not Santa Claus getting ahead of the Christmas rush.

Authorities in Fall River, about 80 kilometres south of Boston, said the man was arrested earlier this week on drug charges while trying to hide from cops.

Police said officers were performing a search warrant at a home on Tuesday night when two people fled the residence by climbing onto the roof. One man managed to evade capture.

“The other male … invoked the essence of the seasonal icon and attempted to hide inside of a chimney,” Fall River police said in a statement, reports WHDH. “(The man) quickly became stuck in the chimney and required the assistance of the very detectives he was previously fleeing from.”

Officers were unable to free the man from the chimney and called the local fire department and medics for help.
