Hastings man arrested for trying to entice undercover GIPD investigator posing as teen girls, police say [Video]

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) – A Hastings man is in the Hall County Jail, accused of trying to meet up with who he thought were teenage girls for sex.

Grand Island Police arrested 38-year-old Marcus Jones for multiple counts of enticement and sexual assault.

According to Grand Island Police, Jones began speaking with two 13-year-old girls on social media in October. In reality, the girls were an undercover investigator with Grand Island Police.

GIPD said after Jones learned the victims’ ages, he started discussing inappropriate topics.

During the month of December, Jones told one of the victims that he wanted to partake in sexual acts with her and another 13-year-old together. He later told one of them the he had booked a hotel and wanted to be with the two, police said. GIPD said that Jones urged the victims to Google specific terms to educate themselves beforehand.
