KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – While many are enjoying the holidays with family and friends, some are stuck inside with no visitors and nothing to eat.
On Christmas, volunteers dropped off meals and presents to more than 700 people to try and make their holiday merry.
“It’s a wonderful opportunity for us to go and be that family to people who may not be able to visit with family on this important day,” Mobile Meals Engagement Director Sara Keel said.
Around 150 volunteers came out to make sure everybody had a special holiday.
“People in Knox County really care about coming together and serving seniors who really could use that extra special moment,” Keel said.
In fact, there were so many volunteers, the line for pickup wrapped all the way to the main road.
