Will Smith Teases a New Sequel to The Matrix [Video]

Will Smith could be the next Neo if his latest social media post is anything to go by.

The Bad Boys star posted a cryptic video on Instagram appearing to tease his role in a sequel to The Matrix.

“In 1997,” the post reads, “the Wachowskis offered Will Smith the role of Neo in The Matrix. Smith turned it down. He chose Wild Wild West, believing it was a better fit for him at the time. But the question remains: what would The Matrix have been like with Will Smith as Neo?”

The post is a reference to the hacker theme of the original film, which released in 1999. It stars Keanu Reeves as Neo, an office worker who, after receiving mysterious messages on his computer, discovers his reality is a computer programme.
