Story Search unearths compelling stories from the heart of local communities, delving into the lives of different people and shining a light on our libraries, local cultural assets, and local arts and cultural organisations in Central Bedfordshire. Episode 3 explores the origins and journey of TADS theatre group in Toddington, Central Bedfordshire. Hosts Cassandra and Kayte visit the theatre and sit down with Paul Horsler and David Sachon to uncover the challenges and triumphs involved in co-ordinating shows and running a local theatre over the last 50 years.
Cassandra and her daughter (first-time amateur theatre audience members) review their experience at ‘Broadway Through the Ages’ at TADS and discuss the value of local theatre. Our final guests are Mum and Daughter TADS actors Gemma and Angel Bayliss. They chat with us about their experience as present-day members and explain why community support for their ‘theatre family’ is vital for its continuation.
