It seems 2025 is the year of major leaks in gaming as hot on the heels of news that the Nintendo Switch 2 will likely be revealed this week, it seems other leaks have seeming confirmed that Bethesda is working on a complete remake of The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion, the prequel to Skyrim and arguably the game that made the studio famous.
The Oblivion Remake is real
According to the alleged leaks, covered by MP1st, Bethesda is indeed working on a remake of Oblivion in the Unreal 5 engine and it was revealed in court documents of Microsoft’s case against the FTC. The documents include a 2025 release schedule and were leaked without redactions.
If this holds true, Bethesda is planning to release an “Oblivion Remaster” in FY22E. Now, more leaks from a former employee at Virtuos, game developer likely hired help out with the remaster (the original studio never makes the remake, see Bluepoint Games and Demon’s Souls), …
