OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – After living in cities like San Francisco and Dallas, Cahner Olson noticed something missing in Omaha: a social media source for all things happening around town.
“I was already working in social media at the time, so I figured I’ll just do this as a side project,” said Olson. “Kinda be a fun way to explore the city that I just moved back to, and it just kind of exploded.”
Her “Omaha Places” TikTok page has more than 83,000 followers and 1.2 million likes, showcasing new restaurants, shops and a rundown of things to do every weekend.
“It’s a different kind of account in my opinion,” Olson said. “I think there’s a difference between having your face be apart of the account versus, we say we’re a faceless influencer, so we try not to show our faces on the main Omaha Places page. So I believe it was Laka Lono, …
