Yesterday’s hearing, “A Decade Later: Assessing the Legacy and Impact of the let’ Chemical Safety for the 21st Century Act,” provided an opportunity to reflect on both the progress and shortcomings of this landmark legislation. Asbestos, once the poster child for TSCA reform, remains legal and continues to devastate communities, claiming over 40,000 American lives annually. This failure to fully regulate asbestos underscores the urgent need for bold legislative action to protect public health.  The hearing full video is below.
