October weather wanes as warmer air blows in next week.
THOUGH IT’S OUR DRY SEASON THIS OCTOBER HAS BEEN EXCEPTIONALLY DRY. SO FAR. WE HAVE NOT MEASURED A DROP OF RAIN AT BIRMINGHAM INTERNATIONAL, AND IF WE CONTINUE ON THIS TREND, I THINK OCTOBER 2024 COULD LEAD THE RECORD BOOKS FOR THE DRIEST. IN 2016. WE SAW TRACE AMOUNTS AND THEN LOOK, WE DATE BACK TO THE 1930S WHERE THERE WAS LESS THAN A 10TH OF AN INCH. AND SO SAFE TO SAY THAT WE’RE PRETTY CLOSE TO LEADING THE RECORD BOOKS AND THROUGH THE NEXT SEVEN DAYS, WE DON’T EXPECT ANY RAIN. AND THERE MAY BE A FEW SPRINKLES TOWARD THE END OF THE MONTH, BUT OVERALL, IT’S VERY DRY AND JUST THE STAGNANT UPPER LEVEL PATTERN KIND OF CONTINUES FOR US HERE AT HOME.
