Augusta schools to use mix of traditional snow days, remote learning [Video]

School districts in Maine are updating their snow day policies in an effort to prevent students from attending school into late June.Some districts are limiting the number of traditional snow days, while others are calling for a mix of remote learning days.Augusta Superintendent of Schools Michael Tracy is instituting a plan where he can call for remote learning the day before an expected storm, which allows students and teachers to get the proper study materials they need ahead of time.”It’s likely the Augusta School Department will have a mix of traditional snow days and remote snow days,” Tracy said.Remote learning days have evolved since the COVID-19 pandemic when students and teachers would hop on long Zoom calls.
