Austin musicians hunt for stolen guitars after break in at music studio [Video]

AUSTIN, Texas — Several Austin-based musicians are asking for help after they say more than a dozen unique guitars worth tens of thousands of dollars were stolen from their East Austin studio this week.

“I was in shock, honestly,” Austin musician Jeff Klein said. “It just feels super violating.”

On Tuesday, Klein – who is part of the indie rock band My Jerusalem – posted to social media, claiming guitars owned by himself, singer-songwriter Walker Lukens and producer Grant Eppley were all taken during a break-in on Sunday night.

Klein said at least 20 guitars, worth around $70,000 total, were stolen, all varying in year and design. All of the specialty guitars are ones that Klein has collected over decades of touring and being in the music business.
