Beaumont Police chief discusses community partnerships [Video]

BEAUMONT, Texas — Beaumont Police Chief Tim Ocnaschek visited the 12News studio Wednesday morning to appear on the Daybreak show to discuss several community partnership initiatives aimed at strengthening relationships between law enforcement and residents.

Daybreak’s Mark Armstrong and Ocnaschek talked about several of the Beaumont Police Department’s outreach programs, including the upcoming Citizens Police Academy training session that starts on Thursday. The academy represents one of several efforts by the department to enhance public engagement.

Ocnaschek also spoke about Beaumont’s neighborhood associations and explained how residents can get involved. The conversation also highlighted a specialized partnership between the police department and Beaumont clergy members.

Additionally, the police chief will discuss the department’s year-round involvement with the Blue Santa program, which traditionally provides Christmas assistance but has evolved into a broader community service initiative.
