COLUMBIA, S.C. — The City of Columbia’s Office of Neighborhood Safety and Engagement will be hosting a vigil to remember victims of violent crime in the past year to show the victims, survivors, friends and families affected by violence that they have not been forgotten.
The Violent Crime Remembrance Vigil is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. Friday, January 10, at Busby Street Community Center, off Farrow Road in north Columbia.
Attendees are asked to register for this event at MyColaSC.
During the vigil representatives from the city will “offer support, educate the community on violent crime statistics, raise awareness, share updates regarding upcoming violence prevention initiatives, and to ensure that the critical public health and safety issue of gun violence remains a top priority” throughout Columbia.
