Colorado deputies make homeless return stolen goods, then buy them food [Video]

ARAPAHOE COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) – A powerful moment was caught on a body camera in Colorado this week.

The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office shared the story on social media on Thursday explaining Sgt. Swank and Deputy Abrams responded to a shoplifting call at Walgreens on Monday.

“They located two suspects nearby and found they had stolen nearly $300 in groceries, mostly food and drinks,” the sheriff’s office wrote on social media. “The man and woman, who were homeless, were very cooperative and apologetic and admitted they had spent their money on drugs due to their addiction, but were cold and hungry and hadn’t eaten in 24 hours.”

In the video, you can hear Sgt. Swank ask the man to take the grocery cart filled with stolen goods back to the store. You can see the employee scanning the items, but then Sgt. Swank did something that went above and beyond his vow to protect and serve. …
