Coroner IDs driver killed in Ladson crash with tractor-trailer [Video]

CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) – The Charleston County Coroner released the name of a Summerville man who died in a crash Tuesday morning with a tractor-trailer.

Tevin Raysor, 36, died at the scene of the crash at 5:33 a.m. from blunt force injuries, Coroner Bobbi Jo O’Neal said.

The crash occurred in the 10400 block of Highway 78 in Ladson at around 5:11 a.m., she said.

Investigators say the tractor-trailer was pulling out of Highway 78 and heading west when a car traveling east at high speeds struck it.

Drivers had to find alternate routes for their morning commutes as the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office Traffic and Forensic Services Units worked the scene.

The crash shut down Highway 78 near Poplar Grove Place in Ladson until 10 a.m.

Traffic was being redirected by law enforcement, but the road closure caused significant delays throughout the morning.

The traffic services unit is still investigating the crash.
