A couple checking into Sandals Montego Bay were shocked when they were told their reserved room was still occupied—by the previous guests who refused to leave.
The original poster (OP), Reddit user notzombiefood4u, shared their experience on r/SandalsResorts, explaining that the couple had booked a six-day stay in an oceanfront club-level room.
However, when they arrived, staff told them that their room was unavailable because the previous occupants—who were supposed to switch to a downgraded room for the second half of their stay—were refusing to move.
According to the post, resort staff reportedly attempted multiple times to gain access but were unsuccessful, even after security was involved.
To accommodate the new arrivals, Sandals offered a temporary garden-view room on the second floor, which was classified as a butler-level suite but didn’t have an assigned butler. The couple was also given a $200 credit for the inconvenience.
