Piers Morgan mocked Erik ten Hag after he was sacked as Manchester United manager on Monday morning and insisted Cristiano Ronaldo was correct for criticising the Dutchman in his previous bombshell interview.

The celebrated television host and journalist has been one of Ten Hag’s biggest critics ever since he gave Ronaldo a platform to vent his discontent about the 54-year-old’s management style prior to leaving Old Trafford.

Morgan has frequently poked fun at Ten Hag ever since and celebrated the former Ajax boss being sacked by United after a dismal run of results proved to be irreversible. 

United finally pulled the trigger on terminating Ten Hag’s contract after their dismal 2-1 weekend defeat against West Ham left the club languishing 14th in the Premier League standings.
