A famous YouTuber has been blasted for an insensitive post about the Los Angeles wildfires that have killed at least five people and forced thousands to flee.
Meg DeAngelis, 29, is a Canadian actress and content creator with millions of followers across various social media platforms.
On Wednesday, she posted a pouty selfie on her Instagram Stories with the caption: ‘When I escaped NYC because it was too cold, but now this one is literally burning down.’
But the apparent joke about swapping New York’s cold for Los Angeles’ deadly heat prompted swift backlash as critics labeled her tone-deaf and inconsiderate to the tragedy.
