Disgraced Grey’s Anatomy writer Elisabeth Finch has once again apologized for lying about surviving cancer and abuse amid the premiere of Peacock‘s new documentary series Anatomy of Lies.
“The truth is, there is no excuse, no justification — nothing will ever make my lies to anyone okay,” Finch said in a statement on social media expressing her regret. “Nothing erases the trauma I caused — the fear, the pain, the anger, the tears, the time. And nothing matters more to me than holding myself accountable in every way.”
Featuring first-hand accounts from her former colleagues and loved ones, the three-part documentary uncovers how Finch lied about suffering from a rare form of cancer, amongst several other falsehoods, to seemingly help her get ahead in the Grey’s Anatomy writer’s room. The series expands on the chilling Vanity Fair exposés from reporter Evgenia Peretz, who co-directed the Peacock doc.
