VOLUNTOWN, Conn. — The Voluntown Volunteer Fire Department responded to a “large” brush fire in town on Saturday and will continue working to extinguish the fire Sunday.
Firefighters responded to the brush fire between the 100 block of Shetucket Turnpike and Wylie School Road. VVFD said Sunday afternoon they had contained the fire to a small area and that it will continue burning through the night.

“Anyone in out in the forest currently in this area please get out of woods,” Voluntown Volunteer firefighters advised on social media.
