Governor Gavin Newsom (D-CA) praised Fox News for an “in-depth and accurate” report on the California National Guard’s participation in the wildfire response.
The wildfires devastating the Los Angeles area have dominated the news this week, and have turned into a political feud as well. President-elect Donald Trump has been attacking Governor Newsom and spreading misinformation about the fires, while Democratic officials have been criticized over preparedness and the response to fires that were spurred on by high Santa Ana winds.
But Gov. Newsom singled out a bright spot in the coverage of the disaster over the weekend, literally thanking Fox News on social media.
“Thank you @FoxNews for the in-depth and accurate reporting of our courageous CA National Guard that has been deployed to SoCal,” Newsom wrote on X/Twitter along with a shorter version of a news package from Saturday’s edition of Fox News Channel’s Fox News Live.
