March corn ended the day up 3½¢ at $4.40¾ per bushel.

March soybeans closed up 13¼¢ at $9.66½ per bushel.

March wheat contracts closed lower today. CBOT wheat ended the day down 8¼¢ at $5.33 per bushel. KC wheat was down 5½¢ at $5.43¼ per bushel. Minneapolis wheat was down 5¼¢ at $5.86¾ per bushel.

“Futures trade was mixed for much of today’s session, with soybeans higher, wheat lower, and corn mixed,” said Karl Setzer, partner at Consus Ag Consulting. “Elevated position squaring ahead of the holiday breaks over the next two weeks generated two-sided trade today, as did technical indicators. Soybeans dipped into oversold territory following the recent break, and this brought buyers to the table.”

He also noted the soy complex was boosted by the export sales USDA announced this morning to unknown destinations and a “solid” export sales number in USDA’s weekly U.S. Export Sales report, also released this morning.
