An Australian man who nicknamed himself “Harry Potter” on social media has been accused by authorities of murdering a teenage boy who reportedly wanted a ride home, police say, according to multiple news outlets.
Jacob Greig, 32, was arrested and charged with murder after arriving at the Narellan Police Station on Saturday, Nov. 9, following a public plea for information put out by authorities, The New Zealand Herald, News.com.au and the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) report, citing authorities.
Police said in a news release that officers were called to bushland off a road in Wilton, New South Wales, at about 7:25 a.m. on Nov. 9 after the body of a 15-year-old boy was found.
According to court documents obtained by The Herald, police allege Grieg fatally stabbed the boy during a confrontation they believe occurred sometime between 10 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 8.
