TORRINGTON, CT (WFSB) – A historic landmark in Torrington is in line to become a renovation project.
The Yankee Pedlar Inn once hosted movie sets and Hollywood stars. Over 120 years old, it was once a hot spot of downtown Torrington.
The building now sits boarded up on the outside and gutted on the inside.
Due to a Connecticut state law, the city can take over management of the property without owning it. They have control to do whatever it wants, and the ideas are flowing around town.
Current ownership left the building in a dilapidated sate, so much so that saving the historic value of the property is not possible.
