How Ford assembles Ranger engines at its Struandale Plant [Video]

• Ford has shared a video looking at how Ranger engines are produced at its Struandale Plant in Nelson Mandela Bay.
• The engines feature in local Ford Ranger vehicles, as well as ones in more than 100 markets globally.
• The engines are sent to Ford’s facility in Silverton, where the final Ranger vehicle rolls off the factory floor.

South Africa represents an important territory for Ford when it comes to its vehicles. Not only does it sell a wide range of models in the country, but more importantly to the local economy, Ford has set up manufacturing facilities in different regions of SA.

Most of these facilities are focused on producing the Ford Ranger, which forms part of the more than 1 million pickup trucks (bakkies in the local parlance) sold in 2022 alone.
