DROGHEDA UNITED have distanced themselves from Conor McGregor after he was pictured with the FAI Cup.
The disgraced UFC fighter posed with the trophy and congratulated cousin Warren Davis – a member of the Drogheda squad – on his success.
But he mistakenly claimed Davis played for arch rivals Dundalk and said the forward was his second cousin to have claimed the honour after Bohemians skipper Keith Buckley.
Buckley was part of the Bohs team beaten by St Pat’s on penalties in the 2021 decider and missed the 2023 final against the same opposition – which the Gypsies also lost – through injury.
