The Malaysian Airlines flight MH370 has been a source of mystery for not just the aviation industry but the world at large. The flight seemingly vanished on 8 March, 2014 after taking off from Kuala Lampur and on its way to Beijing. It had a total of 239 passengers on board including the flight crew. Search and rescue efforts were extensively carried out by multinational teams for years, before the efforts were ultimately called off in 2018.
Now, after a decade, the Malaysian government has sanctioned on renewed search efforts for the flight in collaboration with American marine exploration company Ocean Infinity. The deal is said to be on a ‘no find, no fee’ basis, meaning the company won’t be paid unless they can find the wreckage.
