Jeffersonville Animal Shelter reduces services for Clarksville residents [Video]

JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. — The Jeffersonville Animal Shelter is limiting services to Clarksville residents starting Friday.

In a social media post Wednesday, the shelter said it will no longer accept found pets, owner-surrendered animals, or Trap-Neuter-Release (TNR) cats from Clarksville. It will also stop providing Clarksville residents with spay and neuter vouchers. This will be enforced when checking IDs. 

According to officials with the Jeffersonville Animal Shelter, the reduction in services is due to the Town of Clarksville not signing the latest interlocal agreement.

“We questioned why we were going to be paying for their animal control services when we have our own,” Kevin Baity, the town manager for Clarksville, said in a town meeting Tuesday night.
