Katherine Heigl handles unfiltered anatomy talk with Poise [Video]

It has been 14 years since Katherine Heigl portrayed Dr. Isobel “Izzie” Stevens on the long-running TV series Grey’s Anatomy. But the actor hasn’t strayed too far from her character’s funny and unabashedly honest approach to talking about uncomfortable health-related subjects.

In a new campaign for Poise, Heigl leans into her signature frankness to talk about bladder leakage, or “the giggle dribble,” as she calls it in “Kid.” In the 60-second spot created and produced by Piro, the actress is having lunch with a friend when her joke causes the friend to “pee” a little, much to her 10-year-old son’s embarrassment. As he attempts to shame her, Heigl quickly turns the tables with a quick and humorously thorough tutorial on pelvic health, explaining how perimenopause and menopause weaken the pelvic floor, “causing further control issues.”
