HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) –
We hear a lot about high-tech gift ideas for kids — smart phones, video games, and interactive digital devices, but don’t forget about books.
Giving the right one to a child can take them on adventures and inspire a lifelong love of reading.
To get some recommendations, Susan stopped by Ona Elementary School in Cabell County to talk with a few students.
Aubree, Kaylee and Shelby say kids their age like books that come in a series… like The Hunger Games, Divergent, or Harry Potter.
They also like scary books by Mary Downing Hahn.
These students say pick anything that’s in a collection or series, that way they have more to read after they finish one.
If you’re still stumped on what to get, a gift card to a local book store makes a great present.
