Libertarians challenge incumbents for Madison County Commission seats [Video]

MADISON COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — All Madison County Commissioners are rerunning for their seats on Tuesday, and many are facing Libertarian challengers.

County commissioners are responsible for budgeting taxpayer dollars, maintaining local roads and working on community projects.

All Madison County commissioners seeking reelection on Tuesday

District 1 commission candidate Mark Jean said he is concerned about how the growth in Madison County is being managed and hopes to provide taxpayers with more transparency.

“We don’t hear any discussions,” Jean said. “There’s very little agenda that’s published, and trying to get the budget is another thing that’s almost impossible. We’ve not been able to get a copy of a line-by-line budget, and that’s county property. It belongs to the people, not to the county.”

Isaac Crow is a local small business owner who is running for the District 2 commission seat.
