Medicaid Could Be Headed for Changes, According to Republican Cut List [Video]

Medicaid cuts could be in store this year as Republicans take control of Congress and President-elect Donald Trump prepares to reenter the White House.

Republicans are hoping to push forward a range of changes to the program, including new work requirements and a mandate that would see able-bodied adults without dependents meet certain work and community engagement criteria, according to a list of cuts acquired by Politico.

Why It Matters

Medicaid, alongside the Children’s Health Insurance Program, serves around 79 million low income and disabled Americans.

As Republicans come into power in Congress, the price tag of the program could go down significantly as they look to make major cuts.
