India-based Kappiri Studio just stormed onto the Stash radar with this mix of 2D motion, CG, and faux stop motion wrapped into a kinetic spec spot for the Nike x Sacai sneaker by Japanese fashion designer by Chitose Abe.
Parvathy Narayan, EP/co-founder at Kappiri: “This film is an experimental in-house project where we set out to challenge ourselves by combining the concept of behind-the-scenes footage into a dynamic product commercial.
“Our primary goal was to spark curiosity in the viewer, blending simulated reality with creative storytelling in a seamless and compelling way. We were inspired by the dual essence of the project, reflected both in our approach and in the product we chose.
“Achieving a seamless blend of simulated reality and creative storytelling was our biggest challenge. We tackled this by using stop motion techniques for the BTS sequences, creating a clear distinction between the two worlds.”
