President-elect Donald Trump has nominated celebrity physician Mehmet Oz to head the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), as the “Dr. Oz” TV personality could deliver significant changes to the government health care system that would impact millions.
Medicare serves more than 65 million Americans who rely on the government-run insurance for their health care needs, but Oz, 64, supports privatized Medicare, referring to his initiative as “Medicare Advantage for All.”
