Mehmet Oz Backed Massive Change to Medicare [Video]

President-elect Donald Trump has nominated celebrity physician Mehmet Oz to head the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), as the “Dr. Oz” TV personality could deliver significant changes to the government health care system that would impact millions.

Medicare serves more than 65 million Americans who rely on the government-run insurance for their health care needs, but Oz, 64, supports privatized Medicare, referring to his initiative as “Medicare Advantage for All.”

Under the current system, seniors can choose between traditional public Medicare and privatized Medicare Advantage plans. While some Medicare Advantage plans offer initial lower premiums, some seniors have faced issues getting certain treatments covered due to prior authorization rules and coverage gaps.
