New Man City signing rivals Usain Bolt’s record-breaking speed in stunning sprint [Video]

Footage of Manchester City’s new signing Abdukodir Khusanov sprinting at blistering speed has emerged on social media.

The former Lens defender sprinted at a blistering speed of 37km/h during a Ligue 1 clash.

The video from Ligue 1’s X account shows new City signing Khusanov setting speed at 37km per hour, just shy of the 37.58km per hour average set by Usain Bolt when he set the 100m world record.

Whilst Khusanov nears Bolt’s average speed, the Jamaican’s top speed actually reached 44.72km per hour, equivalent to 27.78 mph.

This speed was attained during the 60-80th metre of his 100m sprint at the 2009 World Championship when he claimed the world record with a time of 9.58 seconds.

Man City will be hopeful that Khusanov can bring his electric speed to the back line, particularly given the expected departure of captain Kyle Walker to AC Milan.
