CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — One Central Illinois park will soon be getting a transformation.
The Champaign Park District will be putting money into improving Davidson Park. They say the playground needs to be replaced.

It was installed back in 2004. The project will cost more than $160,000.
The park will be wheelchair accessible, include a new surface area and new picnic tables with a concrete pad underneath.
“Champaign Park District really looks to just get more people engaged, hanging out together as a community. And of course, parks and playgrounds really bring that to fruition,” Chelsea Norton, Director of Marketing and Development, said.
Norton says they’ve completed step one by pulling out the old equipment now they’re planning on a date to get things started and finished. She also said Clark Park in Champaign will be the next park to get an upgrade.
