Oatly uses its powers of suggestion on unwitting Santas [Video]

Watch out, milk and cookies. Oatly is coming to claim your spot as Santa’s favorite snack and beverage offering while making the rounds on Christmas Eve.

This holiday season, the dairy alternative is back with another entry into its delightfully bonkers Update Milk campaign, where it co-opts existing content (such as an Emeril Lagasse cooking segment), and inserts a crude Oatly product visual and voiceover in place of the original dairy milk featured. 

This time, the brand’s creative strategy aims to disrupt the tradition of placing dairy milk and cookies out for Santa on Christmas Eve, substituting each instead with oat milk and croquembouche — a French dessert consisting of choux pastry puffs stacked in a cone shape with ribbons of caramel drizzled around it. In Love, Santa, a Polaroid commercial from the ’80s turns into a shameless promo for the combo, while in Leave a Note, a dad preps his kids to leave the treats …
