PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A Phoenix attorney says the man accused of shooting up a Democratic Party office in Tempe and placing razor blades and bags of white powder behind political signs in Ahwatukee is the same man who stole and vandalized his signs in 2022.
Paul Weich tells Arizona’s Family that dozens of his campaign signs were stolen and vandalized two years ago.
“Yeah, this is retroactively scary as heck,” said Weich. “This guy was that dangerous, and this dangerous back then, and was targeting our family, neighborhood and was targeting our signs.”
Authorities say Jeffrey Kelly, 60, had more than 120 guns, 250,000 rounds of ammunition and a grenade launcher at his home.
At the time, Weich was running for a seat in the Arizona State Legislature. He said his campaign hired a private investigator to find out who was responsible when his signs started disappearing.
