All buildings on the University of Nebraska at Omaha’s Dodge Street Campus remained closed overnight as a widespread power outage on campus continued.
UNO students, faculty and staff could expect an update on whether the campus would open Thursday by 6 a.m., according to the university.
All Wednesday classes and events on the Dodge Street campus were cancelled, UNO announced in a statement posted Wednesday morning. Scott Campus buildings remained open and in-person classes and events on Scott Campus operated as normal, including Baxter Arena, the school said.
Early Wednesday morning, an electric fuse serving the campus failed and UNO staff determined the electrical failure was located inside the Omaha Public Power District transfer cabinet. A fuse and high voltage electrical cables were inspected for possible repair or replacement.
