Queen Camilla‘s son has shut down any suggestions of a cover-up surrounding his mother’s recent health battles.

Tom Parker Bowles said there was “no great conspiracy theory” and that his 77-year-old mother was “tough”.

The Queen has been forced to withdraw from a number of engagements over the past month after contracting a chest infection.

Last week, Queen Camilla told guests during the Qatari state visit at ­Buckingham Palace that she had ­pneumonia.

She attended the lunch and evening banquet on Tuesday but pulled out of the ceremonial welcome at Horse Guards Parade which would have required her to stand outside for at least 20 minutes in the chilly weather.
